    Summary Maintains holds placed on student records to prevent specific events from occurring, such as registration.

    Operation

    The actions restricted by a hold are determined by the Hold Type.

    A hold is enforced when the current date is after the effective date, or no effective date is specified.

    Holds remain in effect until the current date falls on or after the Clears date.

    To clear a hold, enter a date in the Clears field that specifies when the hold should no longer be effective (this can be in the future) or check the Clear (C) indicator and submit the record (this automatically sets Clears to the current date).

    Holds can not be deleted, only cleared.
