It’s my observation during Easter Break
When God tells us to come to Him as we are...then why doesn't His church do a better job of this? I will tell you why? God is not pouring His spirit out on a building. He is pouring His spirit out on His body of believers. Too many christians have a very narrow view of who Jesus is...oh they claim to love him clap and dance and hallelujah for him but do they really know HIM. I am not attacking the people of God....there are many truly seeking Him but I have to believe that just like me there are others who felt there just wasn't something right about the general church services that occur in our society.....something that just doesn't feel right in the spirit. I use to leave church thinking...it's me....I don't fit in....i use to get upset when a preacher or pastor would get upset if the audience wasn't loud enough or vocal enough in our responses or when we are told how we should worship....this always struck me as a people pleasing attitude...does God really care if I sing this song if I don't want to? does God really appreciate and welcome a begrudged praise offering? I finally heard from Him on the matter and He only wants from me what I am ready and cheerfully willing to part with....he adores how I sing to Him in the shower....He doesn't find it offensive when I read my bible and devotionals on the toilet....He ADORES when I get on my knees and bow before Him in prayer in secret!
