MINUTES OF KOSRAE CAMPUS FACULTY/STAFF SENATE GENERAL ASSEMBLY

SEPTEMBER 27, 2012  |  11:00 am – 1:30 PM  |  ROOM 105, KOSRAE CAMPUS

I.    ATTENDANCE

25 Members Present, 4 Members Absent. (See Attendance List below.)

II.    AGENDA/MAJOR TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION

1.  Introduction of College-wide Faculty/Staff Senate Representatives.
2.  Inform Faculty and Staff about the website: wiki.comfsm.fm (as a way to discuss issues/concerns)
3.  Inform them of the Carry over issues from last year instigated by our Campus, where we await feedback if anything from Staff/Faculty Senate Office.
4. Next Month meeting whether as a whole or split into two groups
5. Comments and Concerns.

III.    DISCUSSION OF AGENDA/INFORMATION SHARING

1. Showed them photos of all Faculty/Staff Senate Representatives. From the wiki page, showed them photos and names of the Officers
   1. President
   2. Vice President
   3. Secretary
   4. Treasurer
2. Inform them that www.wiki.comfsm.fm is wrong and it should be http://wiki.comfsm.fm
3. Shared with them the issues submitted by Latika which is still under review, and stated as the Campus instigating these topics, we can only wait for the feedback rather than further discussing it again.
4. Voted on whether next month we should separate Faculty and Staff Meeting
   1. ??Vote to separate - 8
   2. Vote to Merge - 10
   3. Abstained - 5
5. Comments and Concern
   1. Staff Salary Freeze: from 5 to 7 years ago because of reaching their Maximum rate, is there any consideration for a pay rise before implementing this new Salary Freeze ??
   2. To cut cost (save), can a Time Clock be implemented and to be minded by Administration ?
   3. Payday schedule, if the option Kosrae Campus voted for is not entertained, can we as a Campus be notified before other methods are implemented ??

To be determined after then next System Wide Faculty/Staff Senate Rep meet.
